Think these ones have a MAP sensor instead.

After driving it more, the slight hesitation when you open the throttle from closed (moving off or changing gear) is still present although slightly better. The jerkiness and <1500rpm flat spot went with the new spark plugs.

I'm off work for a week soon so I'll have time to have a play with things like the TPS calibration (I'm really tempted by one of those Acuity hall effect TPS...). Might replace the MAP sensor as well as they're not terribly expensive.

I will make this EP3 drive like new

New MAP sensor (ebay job, supposedly genuine) and new Acuity TPS fitted (adjusted to 0.48v, as the existing one read). Still had the OEM TPS on there and needed slots Dremelling into the bolts to unscrew it.

Still seems the same. Occasional slight hesitation when you move off and the engine RPM can be a little unruly at no throttle sometimes. I have a stock ECU to try in it - just needs coding to my keys so that's the next thing I'll try.

Well it still wasn't really up to my high standards! It was occasionally quite jerky again and the engine RPM tended to drop very quickly while changing gear sometimes. It was fairly inconsistent and seemed to be much better some days than others.

I've ended up giving up and talking to Eurospec who said they'd take a look for me. I dropped it off to them on Thursday evening and they're still trying to get to the bottom of it. I'm driving their Toyota Aygo in the meantime. Should be easy to spot if you see me on the road.

Thanks, guys. They were leaning towards a faulty IACV when I spoke to them on Saturday. A new one's not particularly cheap... They also said that they'd tried a KPro ECU and it behaved the same way so there goes my theories of the ECU reflash causing issues.

In the meantime, some ****er's snapped the driver side wing mirror off the Eurospec Aygo. It's on the pedestrian side too! Nothing's safe these days!!

So how much is an IACV? Any way you/they can test before biting the bullet?

They said they were reasonably sure and that they've been all through it. I don't really know without trying another one as it's fairly intermittent. I found that you could get them separately (new and apparently OEM) from the likes of Tegiwa and H-tune so I've gone and ordered one from the latter for around 220. I'll fit this myself as I've had the thing off the car twice already and know what I need to do.

Down to their diagnosis and luck really. Worst case scenario, I'll sell the old one.

In looking forward to collecting it today. The Aygo is reasonably nice if you're in the market for a small economical car but damn, it's slow haha.
