    Default Brighton meets

Does anyone go to, or is interested in going to evening car meets at Madeira drive, Brighton? Or is it too far?

Depends when it is (do they still do the regular meets down there?) Last time I went though it ended with a few idiots getting the police involved and everyone being sent on their way.

I've not been to a meet there before, there is one Saturday 16th, 8pm called the Brighton run #4
In the description it has emphasis on being a park and pose only event with no burnout, drifting or idiotic behaviour
It's being setup and run by Katsi world team, A.D.R photography, retro motors community, south coast cars and modified motors incorporated community
I've not heard of any of them but seems well organised, even with A&S catering van, so might pop down and see what it's like

Had a similar experience to Al.
I admit this was maybe 6/7 years ago now. But people aiming for 80+mph on that short straight was a quick and easy decider to leave.

Agreed. While most have the best of intentions and strictly stick to the park and pose (just a modern name for a cruise from back in the day, god I am showing my age now) but it is the minority that ruin it for the majority. Same thing happened recently at the one in Whiteley where idiots ruined it for the sensible majority.

was going to go on the 14th but had a friends birthday to attend instead, I live in Brighton now, there's a few meets here but nothing as nice as the HJC ones.

Thursday Madeira Drive @8:30 (Just Jap)
Friday Asda Car Park @ 8:30 (southcoast Evolution)

There's a few more but unsure when they happen or what kind of cars attend.

If you see a white R33 Skyline, give me a shout

I decided to go along last night, see what it was like, loads of people attended! Well into the hundreds with lots of jap cars too! The police were there in marked and unmarked cars and the organisers were stopping people reminding them not to be stupid, I didn't see or hear of anyone messing around and would definitely go again

    Is that every Thursday?
I'll keep an eye out for your R33 when I'm in Brighton

Sounds like it is better organised then. Maybe we should make an evening of it. Is the one you went to last night a regular meet?

I prefer meets with police nowadays. Less likely to have idiots chavving up the place.
