Default S2000 vs other cars (power)

So the other day my friend brought a 2007 wrx wagon and i thought that the S2000 would pull away and to mine and his surprise no one could pull away at all, i also had a little blast with an EP3 and i was only half a car maybe a touch more ahead is my s2000 lacking power i know it need valve clearance done what i am getting done at the end of the month but i don't see that making much of a difference at all.

my s2000 is completely stock power wise
the wrx had a back box (+0 bhp)
    ep3 was a random

also i know the s2000 isn't a straight line car but did expect to pull on these from other videos ??

    Too many factors unknown here...
    Drag race - standing/rolling start.
Other mods like wheel/tyre combo. Other cars totally stock...

Awd from the wrx too will help use all of the power ect. I don't know what the weight different is with a Ep3 that could do it.
Also I would hazard a guess that the wrx with performance back box would spool better so less lag and power hit straight away? Better exit of air?
Like you said tho it wasn't made for a power it's a handling sports car.

WRX wagon off the line will no doubt be able to put the power down no problem and then by the time the S2K is in the power the WRX is on boost etc so not surprised they're evenly matched.

Straight line speed is really only a tiny part of the story though. The power to weight is about equal for the 2 cars so that would explain why they were pretty much level. Point it at some twists though and I would expect the s2000 to pull away. The thing is though to enjoy the car for what it is not what it can "beat"
