Default Went to look at a new car today..

so went to look at a new car today.. the new shape honda type R, 12500 quid from honda with 30k on the clock 1 owner.. i would never buy form there but just went to get an idea of what to expect..

ive never got anything on finance ever.. always paid out 3 or 4 grand cash for a car.. but now in the situation to start thinking about getting a newer car that im going to have for a longer time

any tips, tricks etc i need to look fro when financing a car??

a mate of mine got the new type r for 11 grand 2nd hand... took an 11 grand loan from the bank and had 3 grand cash himself.. said that doing it that way you own the car straight away and if you want to sell it you always have enough to pay off the loan from the bank..

This isnt going to happen straight away but i need to start thinking about my options.

my other option is just wait till im 25 so i can get insured on the skyline i want.. that way ive got 8 months more to save up for it!

And bank loans will cost you more than finance, every time!! Car finance is the best way to borrow money at the moment. Dont get screwed though, if you do take it, take out VRI Gap. Return to Inv is another name for it, i cant stress than hard enough if you take finance on a vehicle!!!

yeah thats what im thinking.. but ive always wanted a newer car with less to do to it.. i cant afford both.. a mod car AND a new car.. so would be either or.. maybe im just in a bad period and need a good slap in the face!

Get a bank loan, car finance will be tied to the vehicle meaning you cant change the car after a couple of years if you get bored.

Also not sure what tricks Lou knows but when I last looked finance from a car dealership was ridiculous interest rates and the banks came out cheaper every time!

But as above the more you can save the easier it will be!
