thanks Revo hoepfully im good on funds.. will see

got another quick question for you all (sorry im new to track fun)

whats the deal with insurance when on track? im guessing your road insurance wont cover you ... so is it possible to take out insurance for the day (if so, is it dont on an individual price basis or generic price) or is it jsut drive and hope you dont mess up :S

You can get track day insurance, but largely its so expensive and excess is so high most people never bother with it.

The track we are doing is an airfield so plenty of tarmac run off on most corners, you'd have to be trying pretty hard to seriously damage your car!

Theres always the risk that other drivers could hurt you, but its not a race, no timing is allowed and safe overtaking only, and from my experience everyone is in the same boat and generally respects this.

Plus if you do stack it we can always wheel it out onto the road and say you drove into a deer

thanks Revo, yea jsut googled it and immidiatly ditched the idea of insurance :P

pretty pricey, my dad had the same idea, jsut tow it into a ditch ^^ hopefully it wont come to that and i have no intent of pushing the car that hard (im a safe driver, or like to think so :P) like my motors to stay in one piece ^^

thanks again and hope i manage to get the oil cooler sorted before this (read funds)

Yeah its open pit so even if you just do 1 or 2 laps then let it cool down for 5 mins before going back out etc to keep temps down. its all doable sir!

At Hullavington last year I found I could do about 10 to 12 minutes on track before I needed to let her cool down for a good half hour.

The good thing about n/a and light car is that the temps stay fine for lap after lap - no turbos means less heat.......

Saying that, the brakes were getting tired after 6 or 7 hard laps.

Looking forward to this one as I'll be testing the new and improved (race prep'd) McLevin!!

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Indeed, I'm going for some braided hoses and new brake fluid etc before this one I think. Wouldn't want the brakes to fade after that long straight!
